Lee Kwang-Ho
Lee Kwang-Ho (b.1967, Korean) utilizes diverse painterly techniques to truthfully represent his subjects, demonstrating extreme realism on canvas. This realism does not lose itself in its representation but forms a tactile and emotional language. Since 2017, as part of the Landscape series, Lee painted the wetlands of Kepler Track that he visited during his travel to New Zealand. To intensify the unique sensations of the swamp’s surface and its plants, He scratched the canvas with printmaking tools and stamped paint with rubber brushes, creating a realistic and tactile landscape. Lee has participated in significant exhibitions at institutions and biennales such as Jeju Biennale (2024); Sungkok Art Museum (2024); Suwon Museum of Art (2022); and Busan Museum of Art (2018). His works are included in the collections of National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Seoul Museum of Art, Gyeonggi Museum of Art, and Jeju Museum of Art, among others.
이광호(b.1967)는 회화적 기법의 모든 가능성을 동원하여 대상을 충실히 서술함으로써 화폭에 극도의 사실성을 담아낸다. 이러한 사실성은 재현으로서의 회화에 그치지 않고 촉각적이고 감정적인 언어로 귀결된다. 2017년부터 작가는 〈풍경〉 연작의 일부로서 뉴질랜드 여행중 케플러 트랙(Kepler Track)에서 몸소 체험한 습지 풍경을 화폭에 담았다. 늪의 표면과 식물의 감각을 극대화하기 위해 판화용 도구로 화면을 긁고 고무 붓으로 물감을 찍어내며 작가는 사실적이고 촉각적인 풍경을 완성한다. 주요 전시로는 제주 비엔날레(2024), 성곡미술관(2024), 수원시립미술관(2022), 부산시립미술관(2018) 등이 있으며, 국립현대미술관, 서울시립미술관, 경기도 미술관, 제주도립미술관 등 유수의 기관에 작품이 소장되어 있다.
