칸디다 회퍼의 개인전 <Candida Höfer Düsseldorf>가 오스트리아 린츠 국립현대미술관에서 개최된다. 지난 해 뒤셀도르프 쿤스트팔라스트미술관에서 시작된 본 순회전은 40여 년간 뒤셀도르프에서 촬영된 작품만을 소개하는 최초의 전시로, 작가 뿐 아니라 도시의 지난 행보를 뚜렷히 보여준다. 특히 눈길을 끄는 점은 작가가 몇 년에 걸쳐 같은 장소를 방문한 뒤 동일한 주제를 새로운 시선으로 잡아낸 작업에서 발견되는 흔치 않은 순간들이다. 약 100여점에 달하는 전시작은 이번 전시를 위해 특별히 제작된 신작들과 이미 제작되었으나 일반 대중에게 공개된 적 없는 다수의 작품들로 이루어져 있다.

Candida Höfer’s Candida Höfer Düsseldorf is going to take place at the Landesgalerie Linz, Austria. First shown at the Museum Kunstpalast in Düsseldorf last year, this travelling exhibition will be illuminating as much the development of the photographer as that of the city concentrating for the first time on works created in Düsseldorf within a period of around four decades. Particularly interesting are the rare moments in which the artist returns to the same location, often years later, and takes up a motif once again, however, with a new gaze. A number of new works are being created especially for the exhibition, which will comprise approximately 100 works, and many of the existing photographs have never been shown to the public before.
