국제갤러리는 런던의 대표적인 아트페어 프리즈 내 지난해부터 본격적으로 개최된 순수 회화 및 조각을 위주로하는 프리즈매스터스에 참가하여 주목을 받고있다. 아트넷 뉴스의 편집장 벤자민 제노치오 (Benjamin Genocchio) 에 따르면 마스터스 섹션은 아트페어가 지니는 물리적인 작품 소개 방식을 넘어서 더욱 다양하고 창의적인 접근에 따라 고유한 페어의 특징을 선보인다고 한다. 이번 Frieze Masters에 국제갤러리 단색화 전시는 가장 주목받는 10대 갤러리 전시 및 부스 중 하나로 선정되었다. 그는 국제갤러리를 아시아의 가장 중요한 갤러리로서 1970년대 이후 한국의 미니멀리스트와 단색 회화의 새로운 지평을 여는 갤러리로 언급하고 있다.
Benjamin Genocchio, the editor-in-chief of Artnet News, says that Frieze Masters is an elegant, restrained, sensible mini art mall for the European leisure class blissfully detached from the main fair. He adds that especially because novel displays are eschewed at Frieze Masters, dealers do tend to get rather creative in their presentations. This makes for a wonderfully heterogeneous collection of booths. Kukje Gallery (Stand F19) is picked as one of the ten favorite booths of the editor. He mentions that Kukje is Asia’s most important private gallery and is paving the way for a new market in Korean minimalist and monochrome paintings from the 1970s.
