Haegue Yang’ interview is featured in LEAP, an art magazine based in China. In preparation for the large-scale solo exhibition at UCCA in Beijing scheduled in the upcoming October, which will be the artist’s first solo exhibition at a Chinese art institution, this interview along with the content discussed in the previous artist talk at UCCA, acts as in-depth survey of the relationships between artist’s use of main medium, cultural identity, language, travel and writing. As a specialized magazine for contemporary visual art, LEAP is published 6 times a year, bilingual in English and Chinese, and released throughout China and Asia, while focusing on the commentary on the trend of international art scenes as well as Chinese contemporary art.
