이수경은 전통적인 소재들을 현대적 조형 감각으로 해석하여 조각, 회화, 설치 퍼포먼스에 이르는 다양한 작품들로 고유한 예술세계를 펼치고 있는 작가로 국제적으로 높은 평가를 받고 있다. 금번 개인전은 <이수경, 내가 너였을 때>展은 대구미술관 전시 이후 대만 타이페이 현대미술관에서 순회전으로 개최(6-7월)된다. 이번 전시에서 이수경 작가는 <번역된 도자기>, <전생퇴행그림>, <내가 너였을 때> 등 신작 포함 250여점으로 대규모 전시를 선보이며, 전시와 함께 작가의 예술세계를 직접 들어볼 수 있는 아티스트 토크가 2015년 2월 28일(토)에 개최된다.
Yeesookyung is internationally renowned for utilizing a variety of genre – sculpture, painting, installation, and performance – to reinterpret traditional materials with contemporary aesthetics. A solo exhibition by Yeesookyung is taking place at Daegue Museum from February 10th to May 17th and the exhibition will be traveling to the Museum of Contemporary Art, Taipei(June to July, 2015). This large exhibition will present approximately 250 works by the artist including Translated Vase series and her new work Past Life Regression Paintings, and When I Become You. There will be an artist talk on February 28th.
