인물 사진으로 유명한 오형근 작가의 개인전이 소격동 트렁크갤러리에서 열리고 있다. <불안초상 Portraying Anxiety>이라는 타이틀로 진행되는 이번 전시에서 작가는 지난 10여 년 간 그만의 관점로 담아낸 불안 섞인 인물의 초상들을 보여주고 있다. 소개된 작품 속 인물들은 <소녀들의 화장법 Cosmetic Girls> 이나 <미국인 그들 Americans Them> 같은 시리즈에서 이미 보여진 인물들이 대부분이며 작가는 얼굴 뿐 아니라 포개어진 손, 소녀의 쇄골 아래 문신 그리고 구겨진 바지 등을 통해 인물 내면에 깃든 모호한 불안을 드러내고 있다.
Hein-kuhn Oh, well-known for his portrait photographs, is currently holding a solo exhibition at Trunk Gallery in Sogyeok-dong, Seoul. In this exhibition titled Portraying Anxiety, Oh presents twelve portrait photographs from his Cosmetic Girls and Americans Them series. These works reveal ambiguous anxiety that resides within each model by not only showing their faces but through their gestures and parts of their body such as hands folded on top of each other, a tattoo on under the protruding collarbone of a girl, or details of unkempt trousers.
