김기라는 경남도립미술관에서 개막한 그룹전 <Peace Voice Nice>전에 참여한다. 이 전시는 현대사회에 끊임없이 반복되는 전쟁과 분쟁의 사회현상, 자본주의와 난 개발에 따른 경제 논리 등 동시대 사회의 공존을 방해하는 문제적인 사건들이 시각적으로 어떻게 표현할 수 있는지 살펴보는 기회를 마련한다. 이번 전시에 참여한 총 11명의 작가들은 회화, 조각, 비디오 등의 작품을 통해 비평적인 접근으로 사회문제와 타인의 고통에 무감각해진 현대인들의 모습을 비판한다. 김기라는 남북의 이데올로기와 자본주의에 대한 정치적 현상을 담은 작품 <이념의 무게-지각의 정치학-진달래 꽃>, <이념의 무게를 위한 드로잉> 및 총 4편의 <이념의 무게> 영상작품 시리즈를 선보이며 개인에게 가해지는 사회현상의 폭력성에 대해 고민한다.
Kira Kim is participating in peace voice nice, a group exhibition held in Gyeongnam Art Museum. The exhibition explores how contemporary art can reflect the problems in our life that constantly recur today, including wars, conflicts, and further development of capitalist logic. These problems hinder the coexistence of the members of our society. 11 artists participating in this exhibtion criticize people today who have become numb to non-peaceful social problems and the pain of the others through paintings, sculptures, and video works. Kira Kim explores the issue of violence applied to the individuals by the society with four video works in his <Weight of Ideology> series that illustrate the political ideology and capitalist theory regarding the situations in South and North Korea.
