이수경은 프랑스 리모주에서 세계적인 도자기 회사인 베르나르도 재단이 주최하는 <My Blue China>전에 참여한다. 6월 11일부터 11월 21일까지 열리는 이번 전시에는 블루차이나 도자를 소재로 작품활동을 하는 12명의 세계적인 작가들의 작품이 전시된다. 점점 획일화되는 문화를 공유하는 현대사회 속에서 다양한 국가의 작가들이 어떻게 도자기라는 소재를 가지고 동일한 테마를 표현하고 현대의 미학적 이슈들을 이야기하는지 살펴볼 수 있는 기회를 마련한다. 이수경은 번역된 도자기 Translated Vase 작품을 통해 깨진 도자기 파편들을 이어 붙이고 장식하여 새로운 조형으로 창조하면서 객체와 시간이 고스란히 담긴 역사의 새로운 해석을 보여준다.
Yeesookyung is participating in a group exhibition, My Blue China, organized by Fondation d’Entreprise Bernardaud in Limoges, France. A renowned tableware company, Bernardaud has selected 12 international artists who work with blue and white porcelains. The exhibition is curated to illuminate cultural uniformity and integration. It focuses on how the artists from around the world express their leitmotif through ceramics and reveal contemporary aesthetic issues. By presenting Translated Vase Series made with fragments of failed ceramic pots glued and attached together then created into new sculptures, Yeesookyung leads to a new interpretation of the history with time and object.
