국제갤러리 이현숙 회장은 세계적인 현대미술지 Art Review에서 선정하는 <현대미술계에서 가장 영향력 있는 인물 Power 100> 이름을 올렸다. 이현숙 회장은 올해 처음으로 Power 100 명단에 선출되었으며, 한국인으로는 가장 높은 순위를 기록했다. 이번 Art Review 특별판 <2015 Power 100>에는 스위스, 런던, 뉴욕에 지사를 두고 있는 갤러리 대표 이안 & 마누엘 워스(Iwan & Manueal Wirth), 논쟁적인 작가 아이웨이웨이(Ai Weiwei), 독일계미국인인 갤러리스트이자 컬렉터 데이비드 즈워너(David Zwirner), 비영리 전시공간 서펜타인 갤러리 관장이자 저명한 평론가 한스 울리히 오브리스트 (Hans Ulrich Obrist)) 등 세계적인 미술계 인사와 예술가들이 포함되었다.
Art Review지는 특히 이현숙 회장에 대해 “서울을 기반으로 활발하게 활동하는 한국과 국제 컨템포러리 예술계의 챔피언 갤러리스트”라 칭하며, 올해 제 56회 베니스비엔날레 병행전시를 통해 전세계에 단색화를 소개한 업적을 조명했다. 또한 올해 빌 비올라, 가브리엘 쿠리, 양혜규, 함경아 등 뛰어난 국내외의 동시대 작가들의 전시를 통해 한국과 세계미술의 간극을 좁히는 데 일조했다고 선정 이유를 밝혔다.
Kukje Gallery's Hyun-Sook Lee has been entered as one of the "most influential people in the contemporary Artworld" by the international contemporary art magazine ArtReview. Making her mark for the first time on the Power 100 list, she obtained the highest rank between Koreans. Also included in this year's special edition issue 2015 Power 100 are Iwan & Manuela Wirth, major gallerists with spaces in Zürich, London, New York, Los Angeles and Somerset; the controversial artist Ai Weiwei; gallerist and collector David Zwirner; the director of non-profit exhibition space Serpentine Galleries and renowned critique Hans Ulrich Obrist; and other figures and artists from around the world. ArtReview introduced Mrs.Lee as "Seoul-based gallerist and champion of South Korean and international contemporary art", and highlighted the collateral exhibition at the 56th Venice Biennale this year introducing Dansaekhwa to the international audience. Also they mentioned that this year's lineup of exhibitions include renowned artists like Bill Viola, Gabriel Kuri, Haegue Yang, and Kyungah Ham effectively bridging the gap between the Korean and foreign art markets.
