이수경은 10월 21일부터 내년 1월 2일까지 아랍에미리트 샤르자 소재의 마라야 아트센터에서 중동 지역에 한국 현대미술작가들을 소개하기 위해 마련된 단체전에 참여한다. 이 전시는 아랍어로 ‘나’라는 의미로 한국어와 비슷한 의미와 발음을 공유하는 [ana]라는 단어를 전시 제목으로 선정하여 한국과 중동지역의 지정학적인 경계와 문화적 한계를 넘어선 공통점을 추구하고자 한다.
또한 화자와 독자, 서술자, 인물이 해체되고 재구성되는 이인성의 소설 <한없이 낮은 숨결>(1989)의 서문에서 전시 부제를 참조하면서, 소설처럼 관객들이 전시를 통해 미디어로 인해 가진 편견을 깨고 적극적으로 한국과 아랍 두 세계를 이해할 수 있는 기회를 제공할 예정이다.

Yeesookyung is participating in a group exhibition at Maraya Art Centre located in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates for introducing Korean contemporary artists to the region. The Arabic term [ana] is chosen as the title of the exhibition in pursuit of transcending the geopolitical and cultural boundaries between Korea and the Middle East; this Arabic term [ana] means 'I', sharing a similar definition and pronunciation with the Korean term [na]. The subtitle taken from the preamble to Insung Lee’s novel The Infinite Ethereal Breath (1989) breaks down the writer, reader, narrator, and person and reconstructs them; likewise this exhibition seeks to break the viewer’s prejudice wrought by media and create an inviting platform for bringing about a closer understanding of these two different worlds. The exhibition continues from October 21 to January 2, 2016
