국제갤러리 이수경은 2015년 10월 10일부터 3월 27일까지 미국 텍사스에 위치한 아시아 소사이어티 센터에서 개인전을 연다. 이수경은 이 센터에서 개인전을 갖는 첫 한국 예술가로서 비디오 작품들과 함께 깨진 도자기들을 이어 붙여 제작한 <번역된 도자기>작품들을 선보인다. 이를 통해 한국의 전통문화를 작가의 개인적인 경험과 인식을 통해 새롭게 해석하고 구축한 그녀만의 작업세계를 보여줄 예정이다.
The Asia Society Center in Texas, USA, holds Yeesookyung’s solo exhibition Yeesookyung: Contemporary Korean Sculpture from October 10th to March 2nd. The first Korean artist to hold a solo exhibition at the center, Yeesookyung will present videos along with works from the Translated Vases series, which are reconstructed sculptures from broken ceramic pieces. Yeesookyung communicates her artistic world through this exhibition, which is built through the artist’s personal experiences and realization of reinterpreting and reconstructing traditional Korean culture.
