8개의 채널로 구성된 김수자의 비디오 설치작품 <지-수-화-풍 Earth-Water-Fire-Air>중 <Aire de Tierra / Air of Earth> (2009)이 베이징 더 템플 호텔의 야외정원에서 상영된다. 더 템플 호텔은 청 왕조 시대에 만들어진 사찰을 개조한 곳으로, 천장에 제임스 터렐의 'Gathered Sky’가 설치된 것으로 잘 알려져 있다. 동양의 역사와 서양의 현대성이 결합된 이 호텔에서 3월 16일부터 5월 1일까지 매일 저녁 6시30분-11시에 상영되는 김수자의 <지-수-화-풍>작품은 동양철학을 반영하여 자연의 근본을 상징하는 네가지 요소들이 유기적으로 결합, 생성, 변화, 소멸되는 양상을 보여준다.

Kimsooja’s Aire de Tierra / Air of Earth, a chapter of the 8-channel video installation Earth-Water-Fire-Air (2009), will be screened in the courtyard of The Temple Hotel in Beijing. The Temple Hotel is a restored temple from the Qing Dynasty turned into a boutique hotel and artspace, known for housing James Turell’s skyspace installation Gathered Sky. Subtly blending Eastern spirituality with contemporary Western style, The Temple Hotel screens Kimsooja’s video installation every evening between 6:30 and 11:00 PM, from March 16 to May 1, 2016. Earth-Water-Fire-Air, based on the four fundamental elements of nature according to eastern philosophy, displays the constant interrelation, merge, transformation, and extinction of these elements.
