박미나는 5월 17일부터 6월 30일까지 시청각에서 개인전 <Scream>을 개최한다. 이번 전시는2005년 동명의 개인전 이후 새롭게 작업한 8점의 ‘Scream’ 연작으로 채워진다. ‘Scream’ 연작은 찰스 슐츠의 만화 «피너츠(Peanuts)»의 캐릭터인 찰리 브라운을 연상시키는 동그란 얼굴 도상을 주제로, 반복되는 하트 무늬 이미지에 무지개색, 은색 별 문양의 도열, 흑백 바둑판 등 서로 다른 규칙으로 변주되는 이미지 작업들은 얼굴 도상의 이미지 비율과 방식을 결정한다. 이로써 박미나 작가가 도상과 주제에 기초하여 색과 형태, 내용과 형식에 관한 배치와 연산에 대해 연구한 흔적을 보여준다.

MeeNa Park holds solo exhibition Scream at the Audio Visual Pavilion in Seoul, South Korea, from May 17 to June 30, 2016. A continuation of Park’s 2005 solo exhibition of the same title, this exhibition features eight new works in addition to the thirty works previously shown. The Scream series conjures Charlie Brown’s round face abstracted as an icon, the repeating heart shapes, fields of silver stars, and grids determine the relative size and position of Charlie Brown’s face on canvas. Through these icons and the leitmotifs the artist presents her research about the application and composition of color and form.
