루이즈 부르주아는 테이트 모던 아티스트 룸 갤러리에 6월 17일부터 내년 6월 17일까지 개인전을 연다. 아티스트 룸은 앤서니 도페의 기증으로 2008년에 개설되어 40여명의 국제적인 작가의 1600개의 작품을 보유하고 있으며, 각 작가들의 주요 작품이 개인전을 통해 선보이게 된다. 루이즈 부르주아는 아티스트 룸 갤러리의 첫번째 작가로 선정되어 다양한 매체를 활용하여 전통적인 기법부터 현대적인 기술로 만들어진 조각, 패브릭 작품, 드로잉 등 작가의 초기작부터 후기작까지 총망라하는 전시를 선보일 예정이다.
Louise Bourgeois’ work will be on view in the new gallery dedicated to Artist Rooms at the new Tate Modern in London, from June 17, 2016 to June 17, 2017. Artist Rooms was founded in 2008 when Anthony d’Offay donated 1,600 works of 40 renowned international artists. The space is designed to present a program of solo exhibitions of work by each artist. Louise Bourgeois is the first artist to be displayed in Artist Rooms. Covering from her earlier pieces to her late works, the exhibition showcases a selection of sculpture, fiber artwork, drawing, and writing that were created through diverse mediums employing traditional and modern methods.
