김수자는 10월 7일부터 내년 1월 8일까지 스페인 말라가 현대미술관에서 개인전 을 개최한다. 이번 전시는 인간 조건의 다양한 측면을 되돌아보고, 다른 문화적 감성을 포용할 수 있는 세계관으로 변화시키고자 장소 특정적 작품 와 Espacio 5에서 상영되는 비디오 작품 으로 구성하였다. 2012년 런던올림픽을 위해 제작된 바 있던 은 이번 전시를 위해 264개의 국기들을 위계적, 정치적 편견 없이 알바벳 순으로 한 개씩 천천히 중첩시켜 국가간의 갈등이나 차이없이 하나로 통합하는 시각적 경험을 유발한다. 는 말라가 현대미술관의 중앙 전시관을 700개의 연등으로 가득 채운 작품으로 관객을 사색과 명상의 장소로 초대한다.

Kimsooja will hold a solo exhibition titled TO BREATHE – ZONE OF ZERO from October 7, 2016 to January 8, 2017 at the CAC Málaga, Spain. This exhibition consists of Lotus: Zone of Zero (2016), a site-specific work that reflects on various human conditions and attempts to transform viewers into embracing diverse cultural differences, and To Breathe – The Flags (2012), a video work which will be screened in Espacio 5. In To Breathe – The Flags, which was originally produced for the 2012 London Olympics, 264 flags are slowly superimposed onto one another in alphabetical order, without hierarchy nor political prejudice. The work creates a visual experience where all nations are united into one, without any international conflicts nor differences. For Lotus: Zone of Zero the central exhibition hall is flooded with seven hundred Buddhist lotus lanterns, inviting the audience to an atmosphere of contemplation and meditation.
