정창섭, 정상화, 하종현, 권영우, 박서보 정연두는 2016년 10월 13일부터 2017년 4월 9일까지 그리스 아테네에 소재한 20세기 대표적인 유럽미술컬렉션을 자랑하는 조지 이코노무 콜렉션 미술관의 그룹전 <새로운 시작: 기하학과 제스처 사이>에 19명의 유럽과 아시아 작가들의 작품과 함께 소개되고 있다. 현 런던 테이트 모던에 부임한 새로운 관장 디렉터 프란시스 모리스 (Frances Morris)가 기획한 이 그룹전은 제2차 세계대전 이후 60년대부터 80년대까지 활발하게 활동한 이브 클랭 (Yves Klein), 알베르토 부리 (Alberto Burri), 카즈오 시라가 (Kazuo Shiraga) 등의 작품을 함께 전시하며 유럽과 아시아 미술의 지역적인 특수성을 살펴보는 한편 동시대적으로 공유하는 정신성을 살펴보면서 미술사적 연구를 확장하는 기회를 마련한다.
Chung Chang-Sup, Chung Sang-Hwa, Ha Chong-Hyun, Kwon Young-Woo, and Park Seo-Bo will participate in New Beginnings: Between Gesture and Geometry at The George Economou Collection, an exhibition bringing together works by nineteen Asian and European artists who emerged in the years following World War II. Located in Athens, Greece, the George Economou Collection boasts one of the most extensive collections of 20th century European art. This exhibition is curated by Frances Morris, the new director of the Tate Modern in London. Dansaekhwa artists will be displayed alongside other postwar artists active from the 1960s to the 1980s, such as Yves Klein, Alberto Burri, and Kazuo Shiraga, providing an opportunity to expand scholarly, art historical research by examining the artistic characteristics unique to each region and the qualities shared amongst these contemporaries.
