국제갤러리의 칸디다 회퍼는 2017년 2월 10일부터 5월 1일까지 독일 함부르크에 위치한 Deichtorhallen에서 개최하는 그룹전 <Elbphilharmonie Revisited>에 참여한다. 이번 전시는 스위스의 건축가 헤어초그&드뫼롱 (Herzog & de Meuron)이 설계하여 세계에서 가장 큰 규모와 최첨단 음향시설을 자랑하는 함부르크의 콘서트홀 엘프필하모니 (Elbphilharmonie)가 2017년 1월 11일 개관한 것을 기념하여, 함부르크 문화예술위원회의 후원과 엘프필하모니의 협업 하에 개최된다. 현대적인 엘프필하모니 건축 디자인에서 영감을 받아 세계적인 작가들이 이번 전시를 위해 특별히 제작된 사진, 대형설치, 조각, 그리고 비디오 작업들을 선보이며, 건축물을 재해석한 작품들을 통해서 건축과 사람, 지역사회의 관계를 조망하는 기회를 마련한다. 칸디다 회퍼는 ‘엘프필하모니의 심장’이라 불리며 2,100명의 관객을 수용하는 그랜드홀을 작가 특유의 클래식하면서 웅장한 대형 사진작업에 담은 작품을 소개한다.
Candida Höfer participates in Elbphilharmonie Revisited, a group exhibition taking place from February 10 to May 1, 2017, at the Deichtorhallen Hamburg in Germany. This exhibition celebrates the occasion of the January 11, 2017 opening of Elbphilharmonie, the largest and most technologically advanced concert hall in the world built by Swiss architects Herzog & de Meuron, and is held in collaboration with Elbphilharmonie and the Hamburg Cultural Authority,. The exhibition will focus on the artistic reflection on and adaptation of architecture, featuring photography, large-scale installations, sculptures, and film by internationally renowned artists who were inspired by the architecture of the building. The works are reinterpretations of Elbphilharmonie, with a particular interest in the relationship between the building and the people and the greater society. Candida Höfer will introduce the Grand Hall in her signature monumental and classical large-scale photography. This space seats 2,100 guests and has been dubbed as “[t]he heart of the Elbphilharmonie,”
