(Otis College of Art and Design)의 미술학부가 주최하는 강연에 참여한다.
Haegue Yang will present at a lecture hosted by the Fine Arts Department in Otis College of Art and Design, based in Los Angeles, on February 14, 2017. Established in 1918, Otis College of Art and Design is one of America’s most respected art schools, having distinguished alumni such as John Baldessari (b. 1931), Robert Irwin (b. 1928), and Philip Guston (1913 – 1980). The school continues its tradition of excellence with Trustee Clifford Einstein, one of Los Angeles’ most renowned collectors, who owns one of Yang’s works. Yang, who employs a whole range of quotidian objects such as Venetian blinds, coasters, and cans of ham, works across media using collage, performance, and installation. This lecture will introduce the artist’s exploration of material-based concerns, accompanied by philosophical, emotionally charged, and idiosyncratic readings of historical events and figures. Yang is based in Berlin and Seoul.
