Park Chan-kyong will be exhibited in a group exhibition titled 2 or 3 Tigers at the Haus der Kulturen der Welt in Berlin, Germany from April 21 to July 3, 2017. Featuring artworks by eight individual artists and an artist collective, this exhibition centers on the theme of transience. The tiger is conceived as a liminal figure that hovers between civilization and wilderness in the past and the living and mythical representation in the present day. Park Chan-kyong will present Kyoto School (2017), a new work about the ‘Kyoto School,’ a group centered on the Kyoto University elites in the post-World War I 1930s, and kamikazes. Park will also give a lecture at the Haus der Kulturen der Welt by the title of Colonial Unheimlich on April 22 and will open a solo exhibition at Kukje Gallery on May 25.
