김소라, 홍승혜, 일민미술관에서 개최되는 그룹전 <do it 2017, 서울> 참여 | KUKJE GALLERY

국제갤러리의 김소라와 홍승혜는 2017년 4월 28일부터 7월 9일까지 일민미술관에서 개최하는 그룹전 에 참여한다. <do it>은 1993년 큐레이터 한스 울리히 오브리스트가 국제적인 작가들이 직접 쓴 작업 지시문들을 9개국 언어로 번역해 출간하며 시작된 전시 플랫폼으로 20여 년이 지난 현재까지도 전 세계에서 끊임없이 확장되어 진행되고 있다. 이번 서울 전시는 2013년에 발간된 『do it 개요서』에 실린 250명의 작가 지시문 중 마리나 아브라모비치 (Marina Abramovic), 피에르 위그 (Pierre Huyghe), 올라퍼 엘리아슨 (Olafur Eliasson) 등 일민미술관에서 선정한 44명의 작가 지시문을 국내 작가들의 협업으로 재창조하고, 대중들이 공공장소나 집, 또는 온라인 등 다양한 장소에서 게임, 퍼포먼스, 이벤트 등을 통해 오브제와 스토리 제작에 참여하도록 초대하여, 새롭게 번안 및 가공된 형태로 제시된다. 이번 서울 전시에서 올라퍼 엘리아슨의 지시문 <생리학적 기억 (Physiological Memory)>은 홍승혜 작가, 퓌순 오누르 (Füsun Onur)의 지시문은 김소라 작가에 의해 재창조되어 선보여질 예정이다.

Hong Seung-Hye and Sora Kim will participate in a group exhibition titled do it 2017, Seoul at Ilmin Museum of Art in Seoul from April 28 to July 9, 2017. do it began in 1993 as an exhibition platform by Hans Ulrich Obrist, who published written instructions by internationally acclaimed artists in nine different languages. These instructions by artists act as a point of departure, each of which can be interpreted anew every time they are enacted. Over twenty years later, the exhibition has been featured worldwide. For the exhibition in Seoul, the Ilmin Museum of Art has selected instructions from the do it manual written by 250 artists, published in 2013. This selection includes instructions by forty-four artists including Marina Abramovic, Pierre Huyghe, and Olafur Eliasson, and the museum will collaborate with Korean artists to enact these texts. In this exhibition, Hong Seung-Hye will showcase a unique interpretation on Eliasson’s text Physiological Memory, while Sora Kim will reenact an instruction written by Füsun Onur.
