양혜규, 독일 레버쿠젠 Museum Morsbroich 그룹전 참여 | KUKJE GALLERY

국제갤러리의 양혜규는 2017년 5월 21일부터 9월 3일까지 독일 레버쿠젠에 위치한 모르스브로이히 뮤지엄에서 개최하는 그룹전 <Duet with Artist. Participation as Artistic Principle>에 참여한다. 이번 전시에서는 관객을 창작에 참여하고 관여할 수 있으며 나아가 창작을 완성시키는 주체라 간주한다. 또한 본 전시에서는 1950년대부터 시작된 관객 참여형 작품의 역사를 고찰해 보는 섹션을 마련해 선보인다. 관객이 작품에 미치는 적극적인 영향력은 미술기관을 가능성의 공간으로 변모시키며, 관객들을 수동적 관찰자에서 중요한 역할자로 탈바꿈 시킨다. 요셉 보이스, 한스 하케, 그리고 이브 클랭을 비롯한 30명의 국제적인 작가들의 작품이 소개되는 이번 전시는 관객이 창작 과정의 다양한 측면들을 지성적으로 혹은 인식적으로 탐구할 수 있도록 초대해 그 과정에 참여하도록 유도한다. 양혜규는 이번 전시에서 바퀴와 손잡이가 장착되어 움직임과 소리를 동반하는 설치작업 <Sonic Dance – Lunar Side Up>(2014) 을 선보인다.

Haegue Yang participates in Duet with Artist. Participation as Artistic Principle at Museum Morsbroich in Leverkusen, Germany, from May 21 to September 3, 2017. This exhibition features works that are conditioned on the participation of visitors who create, control or complete artistic processes, as well as an extensive historical section that examines the history of participatory works since the 1950s. The active role of the audience transforms the museum institution into a space of possibilities, encouraging the viewer to take on a formative role as opposed to that of a passive observer. With works by approximately thirty international artists including Joseph Beuys, Hans Haacke, and Yves Klein, the exhibition invites visitors to examine the various aspects involved in the creative process on an intellectual, cognitive level and subsequently participate in it. The installation includes Haegue Yang’s Sonic Dance – Lunar Side up (2014), a work on wheels and designed with handles that also produces sounds when set in motion.
