The 244-page-long publication provides a comprehensive overview of Hong’s versatile career, displaying over 200 reproductions of the artist’s work from her Organic Geometry series. HONG SEUNG-HYE: ORGANIC GEOMETRY provides an opportunity to understand the organic contextual and formal development of Hong’s unique artistic vocabulary which is rooted in the idea of the combination and accumulation of the pixel—the fundamental basis of organic geometry—which first appeared in the artist’s work in 1997, to her current practice of traversing between two-dimensional planes and three-dimensional spaces.
