김수자 작가는 뉴욕 뉴 스쿨의 셸리아 C. 존슨 디자인 센터(Shelia C. Johnson Design Center) 내에 있는 안나 마리아와 스테판 켈렌 갤러리(Anna-Maria and Stephen Kellen Gallery)에서 열리는 그룹전 전시에 참여한다.
이번 전시는 이주, 망명 등 현대 사회에서 요구되는 “이동성”에 관한 이슈를 탐구하고자 기획되었다. 특히, 이러한 상황들이 문화적, 개인적 관점에서 “거주” 또는 “소속”에 대한 개념을 어떻게 약화시키는지 주목하고 있다. 이번 전시에는 김수자 작가를 포함하여, 전세계적으로 활발하게 활동하는 작가 19명이 참여한다.
이번 전시는 워싱턴 디씨에 위치한 프로비젼 러닝 프로젝트의 예술 감독인 니엘 반 토메(Niels Van Tomme)가 기획하였으며, 발티모어 메릴랜드 대학교 내의 아트, 디자인 앤드 비쥬얼 컬쳐 센터(Center for Art, Design and Visual Culture)를 시작으로 순회전시 중이다.

Kukje Gallery is pleased to announce Kimsooja’s participation in <Where Do We Migrate to?> at the Anna-Maria and Stephan Kellen Gallery, located inside Sheila C. Johnson Design Center of the New School, New York.
<Where Do We Migrate To?> explores contemporary manifestations of required mobility as well as experiences of displacement and exile, and examines how intensified situations of transition inexorably undermine our cultural and personal notions of settlement and belonging. The exhibition features the work of nineteen internationally recognized artists and collectives, including Kimsooja.
<Where Do We Migrate To?> is curated by Niels Van Tomme, Director of Arts and Media at Provisions Learning Project, Washington, DC. The nationally touring exhibition is organized by the Center for Art, Design and Visual Culture at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County.
